Upcoming Program: Minerva Scholarship Fund

The Minerva Scholarship Fund (Minerva) provides scholarships to adult women from Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula area who are returning to school after taking time off to work and raise their families. Minerva was created in 1991 by three members of the Gig Harbor Branch of the American Association of University Women who shared a vision of the importance of higher education for women. Minerva has grown into a thriving funding source for many accomplished students. In 2016, the 11 recipients ranged in age from their 20’s to 50’s and are studying in a variety of fields including creative writing, museum studies, criminal justice and nursing.

Please join Soroptimist International of Gig Harbor on Thursday, January 26, 2017, when we will hear from Elizabeth Robinson, Board Member of Minerva, to learn about the organization’s founders, their vision and some of its recent scholars.
